Students’ Music Practical Exam
This morning, most of MusicTEC students took their practical exam. Many taking for the very first time. They were nervous, the minute they stepped into the room, they forgot what they had to do.
Jon Kit broke down for his first piece, “Toreado”. He was so nervous, instead of requesting to play the song again. He told the examiner, that he wants to stop and move on to the next song. Fortunately, he managed to compose himself well to play the next 2 pieces better.
Daniel was more excited to know the results. Either, has confidence of passing or the other way.
I’m pleased that Benjamin did well. His pieces were kept on time with the Auto-Rhythm.

Music exams can sure make you nervous. It helps to pretend that you are playing to your “friend” and not a “formal examiner”. Give a smile to the examiner, and relax. Enjoy the music.
I remember reading about music exam mishaps in the ABRSM website:
Examiner: “Your pieces were very well done. Now, let’s hear your scales. Please play the D major scale.”
Candidate: “I don’t do scales.”
